Maya Wang is an American-born Chinese artist, designer, model, and DJ based in Columbia, SC. Passionate about art, fashion, and music, she began her creative career while completing an interactive media arts degree at NYU Shanghai. Upon graduation, she returned to the United States to pursue career opportunities, eventually finding herself in the Southeast.
Since 2018, she has worked as a visual designer for various brands, artists, and businesses. Maya has professional experience in digital design, motion graphics, and illustration, and she is currently available for freelance hire.
A multi-hyphenate, Maya is also a DJ, producer, and musician dedicated to DJing as a form of self-expression and community building. She is an integral part of two Columbia-based DJ collectives, Folk Tech and SoundEscape. Maya enjoys spinning all things groovy—disco, citypop, soul, funk, house, and garage—and draws inspiration from the vibrant, local creative communities around her.
